“Girl” is the latest single from Greasy Hands, featuring R&B/Soul singer Les Greene on lead vocals. Co-written by Aaron Walker and Andrew Schuster, the piano-driven ballad showcases a smooth, soulful feel, with rock and roll undertones.

The song is an ode to the beginning of a deep romance; that delicate moment when a person realizes that they have fallen in love and will do anything to protect their partner.

Les Greene, the American Idol Top 50 contestant and front man of South Florida band The Swayzees, delivers a powerhouse vocal performance that does justice to Idol judge Luke Bryan’s playful comment that his voice is “Like a Ferrari”.

We all love singing this song, but Les’s voice really completes the vision we had for this one.

“Girl” was a multi-state project, written in Baltimore, MD, with the music recorded at Israel Nash’s Plum Creek Sound in Dripping Springs, TX and the vocals recorded at OmniSound Studios in Nashville, TN.

Greasy Hands and Greene have been trying to work together for years, first linking up during a 2013 Greasy Hands gig where Les first sang the song. After Greasy Hands finished recording their debut LP, they knew that Les was meant to be on the track. “We all love singing the song, but Les’s voice really completes the vision we had for this one,” says Schuster.

Greasy Hands is a musical collective producing music that features a range of artists and genres. Les Greene brings a retro and powerful vocal presence that pairs beautifully with the bands’ eclectic format. “Singing publicly was new to me when they asked me to sit in for “Girl” at their show at Swallow at the Hollow in Baltimore... Then years later having this full circle reunion moment with the song and band was the dopest. I’m a sucker for a cool story.” Says Greene

Greasy Hands is currently touring in support of their self-titled LP with upcoming shows in Baltimore, Austin (SXSW), Washington DC, Philadelphia, and New York City while Greene is hard at work in the studio recording his debut solo EP.

Singing publicly was new to me when they asked me to sit in for “Girl” at their show at Swallow at the Hollow in Baltimore... Then years later having this full circle reunion moment with the song and band was the dopest. I’m a sucker for a cool story.

About the ALBUM

mollys single image.png

Greasy Hands’ long-awaited self-titled debut album is a recording that could have only been made after nearly a decade of honing an eclectic but cohesive sound that feels equally at home in singer-songwriter territory and laying down some serious funk. In other words, it was well worth the wait.

The eponymous 13-track album was recorded at Mobtown Studios in Baltimore and Israel Nash’s Plum Creek Sound in Austin with engineers Mat Leffler-Shulman (Future Islands) and Matt Gerhard (Spoon) and mixed in collaboration with Evan Daniel Kornblum (Pocket Bells) at Stages Music Arts.  Mastering work was masterfully executed by Alex Saltz (Vampire Weekend) of APS Mastering.

While the band often uses live shows to flex it’s improvisatory muscles, the Greasy Hands collective is equally at home in the studio and uses the medium to expand the sonic possibilities of its texturally robust song list.

“IN SUMMARY, THE LP IS A TRIUMPHANT SHOWCASE OF THE GROUP’S MUSICALITY WITH TRACKS RANGING FROM HEART-WRENCHING BALLADS TO FANTASTICAL PROGRESSIVE COMPOSITIONS.”
